Sony WEGA KLV-S23A10 23-Inch LCD HD-Ready Flat Panel TV Review
This is great TV with a good user interface and a spectacular picture. I have had no problems with it and although I know you can now getter better ones for less cost, if you can get this used at a good price or at a lower price than the newer models, you may want to consider it.
There are three different color modes on this TV and I use them all for different purposes. For example, low definition, non-digital signals often look best in VIVID mode. Flesh tones and dark shadowy scenes almost always look most realistic in PRO mode. However, for most purposes the STANDARD setting is great.
I am also very happy with the viewing of the picture at all different angles and with the lack of glare factor. On some of these HDTV sets, viewing at another angle changes the color or glare. This is not a good thing and it's downright annoying if you have multiple people viewing the set in your living room.
There are also many hook up possiblities and they are easy to reach. I did a lot of research before buying this and I'm very pleased with my TV 1 year latter. I'm also confident that I was very thorough in my research and for sets made during this period this is good quality and now you can get it for less.
A small shortcoming is that the built in speaker could be a bit louder. It is adequate for a small room, but if you really want great sound I would run it through your stereo or a home studio setup.

Sony WEGA KLV-S23A10 23-Inch LCD HD-Ready Flat Panel TV Specifications
Whether you're infusing home theater sensibilities into your office or simply wanting the option to access your desktop or laptop computer from the living room or kitchen, Sony's 23-inch KLV-S23A10 LCD television is the set for you. The high-definition-ready TV offers 1,3660 x 768 native pixel resolution and compatibility with 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i HDTV signals. The set's widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio to match the dimension of most movies and HDTV broadcasts, and its onboard SRS TruSurround audio processing simulates a surround-sound effect through the set's two speakers (5 watts x 2).
LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including a thin form factor (this set is just 3.6 inches thick), general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life with no risk of image burn-in, space savings, and light weight/easy positioning.
The KLV-S23A10 also offers Sony's CineMotion reverse 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. Digital video mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture.
Other enhancements include Sony's Advanced Video Processor (a one-chip video processor with a motion-adaptive 3D I/P converter), a Dynamic Picture processor (which maintains image detail in the very bright and dark areas of each scene), and a 3D Y/C comb filter, which removes blurred edges between colors and reduces dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). To simplify setup and operation, Sony provides its WEGA GATE easy-operation onscreen menu.
Connections include a direct-digital HDMI interface for use with DTV set-top boxes, a VGA PC input, a high-definition-compatible component-video input, 3 each composite- and S-video inputs, and an RF coaxial input for hookup with an older VCR, cable box, or antenna.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your television. HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multi-channel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.
